Aside from being a practicing ophthalmologist, he serves as a clinical mentor for the Glendale Adventist Family Practice Residency Program, where he enjoyed teaching their residents for the last 20 years. Dr. El-Harazi has an extensive research experience. He authored or co-authored numerous journal articles, abstracts and book chapters

He participated as a principal investigator in nearly 100 clinical trials and research projects involving the development of new drugs. Dr. El-Harazi is currently a lead investigator in multiple national clinical trials and serves as an advisor as well as medical monitor for major pharmaceutical companies.

He is an active member of the top cancer organizations in the world, such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), as well as the American Society of Hematology (ASH). He has served as the lead investigator on multiple national clinical trials.
